As we get deeper into the 2024 NFL season, fans are getting more excited about the games. This week, we look at The Power Rankings’ (TPR) NFL Week 8 Power Rankings. Using fair data-driven analysis, TPR gives you a lot of information about how each team is doing and where they are going. Every team in the NFL has a story. We’ll look at all 32 and what got them to where they are now. From the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs to the struggling Carolina Panthers, let’s go.
All 32 Teams NFL Week 7 Power Rankings
1 Kansas City Chiefs (6-0)
According to the NFL Week 8 Power Rankings, the Kansas City Chiefs are still the only team in the league that hasn’t lost. Patrick Mahomes remains the best quarterback, and Chamarri Conner is becoming a rising star on defense. This defensive back can do many things well, giving the Chiefs a well-rounded defense. It’s likely that they will win the Super Bowl, and each week their attack and defense get better.
2 Detroit Lions (5-1)
The Detroit Lions used to have a lot of problems with stability, but this year, they are having a big year. Brian Branch, a rookie safety, has been amazing. He leads the defense with four interceptions and 11 passes defended. Because of how well Jared Goff plays, the Lions are a real threat in the NFC. Detroit is successful because it can control both sides of the ball, and it wants to go all the way to the playoffs.
3 Buffalo Bills (5-2)
The Bills have become one of the best teams in the AFC. Benford, a cornerback, has been very important. He is one of the best at stopping passes and anchoring a defense that works well with Josh Allen’s fast attack. When Buffalo plays better teams in the next few weeks, it will depend on how stable their secondary is.
4 Baltimore Ravens (5-2)
The Ravens’ Lamar Jackson is in charge of a balanced team picking up speed. They’ve been strong, and Rosengarten, a young tackle, has made them even stronger. Jackson has had the support he needs to do well. The Ravens are still a tough team to play against, and if they can stay healthy, they could be in the running for the AFC title.
5 Green Bay Packers (5-2)
Many people were surprised by how well Jordan Love has led the Packers to start the season. He often throws touchdowns to tight end Kraft, who has caught four so far. Green Bay’s defense has been good, and now that their offense is clicking, they are one of the top teams in the NFC North.
6 Minnesota Vikings (5-1)
The Vikings are one of the better teams this season, and their special teams are a big reason why. Reichard, a rookie kicker, has made all his shots, even long-range field goals, and has never missed. Better defense has also helped them, giving them a well-balanced attack going into the second half of the season.
7 Houston Texans (5-2)
Houston’s quick rise has been led by its young stars, like Bullock, a rookie defensive back. The defense is stronger because of his two interceptions and skill as a “ball-hawk.” Thanks to a better offense, the Texans are looking like a surprise contender in the AFC South. This shows how a team can turn things around with the right players.
8 Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
Once again, Pittsburgh’s defense has become their trademark. Bishop, a rookie who wasn’t picked in the draft, made news for his two interceptions against Aaron Rodgers. Even though the Steelers’ offense isn’t always reliable, their defense keeps them running for the AFC North title.
9 Washington Commanders (5-2)
The Commanders’ defense has been their strongest point, and Sainristil, a cornerback who can play many spots well, has done a great job in all of them. There is still work to be done on offense, but it has done enough to keep them in the running for the playoffs. Washington will have to keep counting on how good its defense is to stay in the NFC East.
10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-3)
This season, Nickelback Smith and the other young defensive stars for Tampa Bay have been very important. Smith has caused mistakes and picked off a pass. There have been ups and downs with Baker Mayfield at quarterback, but the Buccaneers are still running for an NFC wild-card spot.
11 Philadelphia Eagles (4-2)
The defending NFC champions have experienced a bit of a Super Bowl hangover, but their defense, led by DeJean at nickel corner, has been a bright spot. Jalen Hurts has struggled with turnovers, but if the offense can clean up its mistakes, the Eagles have the talent to make another deep playoff run.
12 Seattle Seahawks (4-3)
The Seahawks have had a good season. Defensive end Hall’s play is a big reason; he leads the team with five sacks. The quarterback position has been stable under Geno Smith, and the defense is beginning to come together. Seattle could make a run for the playoffs in the tough NFC West.
13 San Francisco 49ers (3-4)
The 49ers had a great start to the season, but now they’re having a bad time. There are some good things, though, like Puni, the young offensive guard who is trying to strengthen the offensive line. As the season goes on, San Francisco will try to get back on track with Christian McCaffrey in charge of the attack.
14 Chicago Bears (4-2)
This season, Chicago has been better than expected, and defensive tackle Dexter changed his game over the summer. His five sacks have changed how well the Bears’ defense is playing. What if the Bears’ offense keeps getting better? They might surprise everyone by making a run in the NFC North playoffs.
15 Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
The Cowboys have been very inconsistent this season, but their defense is still one of the best in the game. When a linebacker returns from illness, he shows signs of becoming an every-down player. Dak Prescott must find his rhythm for the Cowboys to fight in the NFC.
16 Atlanta Falcons (4-3)
The Falcons’ young players are finally starting to show what they can do. Their left guard, Bergeron, is very important in the run-and-pass games. If Desmond Ridder can step up his game, the Falcons could be a force in the NFC South. Bijan Robinson continues to lead the offense.
17 Denver Broncos (4-3)
The Broncos have returned from a rough start, because of cornerback Moss’s play. Star Pat Surtain II has praised Moss’s tough style. Russell Wilson is improving, and Denver’s defense has stepped up, putting them back in the running for the playoffs.
18 Los Angeles Chargers (3-3)
The Chargers’ season has been marked by great plays and mistakes that cost them many points. Matlock, a defensive end who switched to fullback, has made a difference in the running game. The Chargers need to improve their defense to move up in the rankings, but Justin Herbert is still great.
19 Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)
The Bengals have had trouble being consistent because Joe Burrow is still hurt. But new tight end All has stepped up and become a trusted target for Burrow in key situations. They must find a way to win many games if they want to stay in the playoff race.
20 Indianapolis Colts (4-3)
Indianapolis’ first-year players, especially seventh-round pick Jones, have improved, especially. Stephen Jackson runs the Colts’ offense. They are still a team to watch in the AFC South.
21 Arizona Cardinals (3-4)
Arizona has had some good moments, especially with tight end McBride, who has the most receptions and yards of any tight end in the game. Because Kyler Murray hurt, the Cardinals are moving more but they are still competitive in most games.
22 New Orleans Saints (2-5)
The Saints have had a terrible season, but in rookie cornerback McKinstry, they have found a real star. Because their top defense has hurt a lot, McKinstry has put in charge and has done a great job. But, the Saints’ attack needs to step up if they want to save the season.
23 Los Angeles Rams (2-4)
The Rams are rebuilding, but early-round pick McCollough has been a bright spot with three interceptions in two games. Matthew Stafford is still hurt, but the Rams’ offense needs to do better if they want to move out of the bottom half of the rankings.
24 New York Jets (2-5)
Aaron Rodgers’ injury slowed down the Jets’ season early on, but linebacker Sherwood has stepped up big time and now leads the team in stops. Zach Wilson is still having a tough time as a quarterback, and the Jets will have a long season if their offense doesn’t get better.
25 Miami Dolphins (2-4)
Miami’s offense has been inconsistent, but rookie running back Wright has shown signs of promise. Now that Achane is hurt, Wright and De’Von Achane could be a great running pair. If the Dolphins want to move up in the rankings, they need to strengthen their defense.
26 New York Giants (2-5)
This has not been a good season for the Giants, but Phillips has been a great cornerback. It’s been very important for the defense that he can stop big plays and make tackles for loss. The Giants are at the bottom of the NFC East because their offense has hurt and hasn’t played well.
27 Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5)
The Jaguars have had a hard time getting into a rhythm this season. However, running back Bigsby has become a reliable choice since Travis Etienne is out. There have been ups and downs with Trevor Lawrence, and the Jaguars need more from their young quarterback if they want to save the season.
28 Las Vegas Raiders (2-5)
Powers-Johnson, a rookie offensive lineman, is showing potential for the Raiders as they try to rebuild. Even though Jimmy Garoppolo has had good games, the team isn’t consistent on either side of the ball. From now on, Las Vegas will have to build around its young stars.
29 Tennessee Titans (1-5)
The Titans are having a rough season, but rookie cornerback Brownlee has been a bright spot, helping to stop some of the best receivers in the game. Derrick Henry is still the most important part of the offense, but Tennessee will have to rebuild if they can’t find an effective way to pass the ball.
30 Cleveland Browns (1-6)
Amari Cooper’s move hampered Cleveland’s season, but Tillman has filled in as a wide receiver. The Browns are going through a change, and if they want to be competitive in the future, they’ll need to help their young players grow.
31 New England Patriots (1-6)
The Patriots have been terrible this season, and their QB play is the main reason. But Gonzalez, a rookie CB, has been great, tackling some of the best receivers in the league. New England’s season is pretty much over if the attack doesn’t get better.
32 Carolina Panthers (1-6)
Even though the Panthers are starting over, rookie linebacker Wallace has been great when the defense has been weak. As a rookie, Bryce Young has had many problems, and Carolina will need to be patient as they try to turn their young quarterback into a team leader.
Power Rankings (TPR) give clear, data-driven information about where each team stands going into Week 8. Some teams are proving they are serious contenders, while others are rebuilding or trying to find a way to be consistent. There is still a lot of football left in the season, so these are NFL Week 8 Power rankings.
Rankings are a snapshot of the current landscape, but as we know, the NFL is full of surprises, and anything can happen in the coming weeks.
